Vocabulary

In this lesson we learn to say what day it is.

To ask "what day is it?" we say "cre'n laa t'ayn?"

To say "it is" we say "she . . . t'ayn" and put the word for the day in the middle.

To say "it's not" we say "cha nee . . . t'ayn." (Notice that we don't use "cha nel" here as that was only for "vel?" questions.)

The word for "today" is "jiu" and can be put at the end of the sentence, as follows:

she Jelune t'ayn jiu
------
it is Monday today
she Jemayrt t'ayn jiu
------
it is Tuesday today
cha nee Jecrean t'ayn jiu
------
it's not Wednesday today
she Jerdein t'ayn jiu
------
it is Thursday today
she Jeheiney t'ayn jiu
------
it's not Friday today
she Jesarn t'ayn jiu
------
it is Saturday today
cha nee Jedoonee t'ayn jiu
------
it is Sunday today
